Since 1989 I develop Software. Over the years I have used a multitude of programming languages on platforms such as MS-DOS, CP/M, Unix, GEM/3 and Windows. The languages Pascal, Modula-2 and BASIC have long disappeared from my toolbox. In recent years Java and the associated rich ecosystem of libraries and tools has held an important position but the C family of languages (plain K&R C, C++ and for Mac OS X and IOS Objective-C) always recommends itself for certain tasks. Obviously for web applications JavaScript is an essential tool. Since 2009 I am also using Ruby for automation and other tasks.
Lately I’ve come to appreciate the benefits of Acceptance Test Driven Development because it is a technique that truly can bring teams together and puts the customer and the problem to be solved in the center of the development activity
This website holds references to things I did or am doing, there is a blog which I update frequently plus a few links to social websites where I maintain a presence.

I am fluent in three languages: English, German, and Spanish. English is the language I usually do my work and writing in. German is my mother tongue and Spanish is what we – together with German – speak at home.
